THE YUPPIE SONG
I described a day in my life to my neighbor. She then wrote it in to a song, that I asked my mother to perform. The work was produced for the show "Urban Pedestal" in 2007.

The Yuppie Song
A B D
I woke up, put on my sweats, and went out the door
A B D
I ran around the park, and made gymnastics on the floor
E B A B
I got dressed and went to meet a friend in a café
E B A A
We brunched by the lakes and found some little things to say
We shopped around, and I found a pretty little top
I´ll wear it tonight for my friends, when they show up
I looked into some galleries, found nothing worth to see
E B A B B7
Then I went home and thought about, what I might be what might I be?
E D E D
I heard it on the radio, and it sounded just like me
E D B B7
I want a new kitchen too; you see, I think, it´ll set me free yuppie
My friends came for dinner that I made in advance
A lot of little courses with good wine chat and dance
At night I couldn´t sleep, because I had too much wine
And the voices of all day was still echoing in my mind echoing in my mind
E D E D
So my brilliant next-door neighbour wrote this song for my mom to sing
E D B B7
Because mom´s an ex-communist, and I am a yuppie this spring
I heard it on the radio ………………
set me
free
